An unexpectedly hard shot by Raul Honrio in the 7th minute of play forced Escalante's goalkeeper Octavio Frichoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sebastian Calixto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Desiderio Orlondo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Octavio Frichoso made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Cristian Soin sent off a good shot on target. In the 20th minute, Patricio Jacindo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sebastian Calixto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Honorato Peio, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. After 24 played minutes Escalante got a freekick which was hit by Eulalio Ramone. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Raul Honrio in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Octavio Frichoso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 29th match minute, Escalante was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Desiderio Orlondo to maneuver through the defense. Patricio Jacindo hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Sebastian Calixto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Desiderio Orlondo, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Aureliano Reynardo hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Raul Honrio to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Desiderio Orlondo reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Sebastian Calixto. The goal made the score 0-1. A collision led to C. A. River Plate getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Patricio Jacindo hit a great ball. 61 minutes into the match, Raul Honrio notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Escalante's Octavio Frichoso. Octavio Frichoso was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raul Honrio in the 71st minute of play forced Escalante's goalkeeper Octavio Frichoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. C. A. River Plate's Sebastian Calixto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save C. A. River Plate from getting a goal against them. In the 79th minute Desiderio Orlondo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sebastian Calixto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Honorato Peio came free with the goalkeeper in the 81st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Sebastian Calixto could save by the left post. Sebastian Calixto was a little too slow when Desiderio Orlondo got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 84th minute. The score was now 1-2. Honorato Peio was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 89th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. 91 minutes into the match, C. A. River Plate's goal looked a bit too open when Haroldo Tancredo came free, but Sebastian Calixto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Haroldo Tancredo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 95 minutes in the game, Haroldo Tancredo fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Sebastian Calixto having to interfere. The C. A. River Plate fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Escalante were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
