Fernando Hechter showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Isaias Sol, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Choya FC's Danilo Dimo suffered a sore thigh after 18 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After a rather tough play, Cuesta's Honorio Tadzio got a free kick in the 19th minute. In the 22nd minute Arsenio Oso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Moises Gasteiz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cuesta's Ladislao Gorbea got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 28 minutes into the game, Venancio Medina recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Fernando Hechter. Venancio Medina showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Isaias Sol hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. 32 minutes into the match, Cuesta's goal looked a bit too open when Arsenio Oso came free, but Moises Gasteiz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Venancio Medina might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fernando Hechter. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Venancio Medina ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Venancio Medina managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cuesta's supporters rose to their feet, but Venancio Medina was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fernando Hechter breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 41st match minute, Cuesta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amador Marko to maneuver through the defense. Ladislao Gorbea was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 46th minute. Cuesta's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Venancio Medina stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Cuesta's Moises Gasteiz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save Cuesta from getting a goal against them. If Ladislao Gorbea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Amador Marko's late challenge caught a Choya FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Amador Marko helped the player get up and apologised. Amador Marko kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. In the 71st match minute, Choya FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Santo Guzman to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 73 minutes, Venancio Medina managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cuesta's supporters crossed their fingers, but Venancio Medina was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Arsenio Oso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cuesta's Ladislao Gorbea got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Venancio Medina's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fernando Hechter was relentless in the 94th minute of the game.
