Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Prospero Venceslao started the match with the kick off. If Prospero Venceslao had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Prospero Venceslao managed to get in a good position for a shot. Zanjón's supporters rose to their feet, but Prospero Venceslao was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Delmar Isias breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in independiente's zone, Paulo Haritz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Delmar Isias came out of the goal and Paulo Haritz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Delmar Isias came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by Zanjón's Eriberto Gartzea. But to his dismay, Eriberto Gartzea quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Eriberto Gartzea struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Delmar Isias didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Zanjón. Delmar Isias stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Prospero Venceslao's shot from short distance in the 25th minute. Efrain Bartoli hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. 28 minutes into the match, Zanjón's goalkeeper Ciriaco Ireno had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Erasmo Ponc. Ciriaco Ireno was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Ermegildo Frances. A collision led to independiente getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Americo Atarrabi hit a great ball. 45 minutes into the match, Erasmo Ponc notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Zanjón's Ciriaco Ireno. Ciriaco Ireno was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Erasmo Ponc was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 52 minutes, Paulo Haritz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Zanjón's supporters crossed their fingers, but Paulo Haritz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Alfonso Hondo fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Zanjón's protests and gave Alfonso Hondo a yellow card for diving instead. Ciriaco Ireno took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ermegildo Frances, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 61st minute, independiente's Godofredo Abascal seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Godofredo Abascal the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of independiente protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Godofredo Abascal had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 61st match minute, independiente was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Godofredo Abascal to maneuver through the defense. When Denis Otsoko fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Zanjón's protests and gave Denis Otsoko a yellow card for diving instead. After 64 played minutes Zanjón got a freekick which was hit by Denis Otsoko. If Cleto Afonso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Zanjón booed when independiente was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guido Ler didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Eriberto Gartzea managed to get in a good position for a shot. Zanjón's supporters rose to their feet, but Eriberto Gartzea was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Delmar Isias breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Zanjón's Nemesio Checa was substituted for Denis Otsoko. Zanjón's Haroldo Oinaz was substituted for Efrain Bartoli. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Paulo Haritz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Zanjón's supporters rose to their feet, but Paulo Haritz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Delmar Isias breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Prospero Venceslao was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 84th minute. Zanjón's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Prospero Venceslao fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Delmar Isias having to interfere. 91 minutes into the game, Paulo Haritz lined in a short shot 1-2 behind a frustrated Delmar Isias. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Zanjón had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
