The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Sebastian Tabors short, quick shot in the 5thth minute got Eriberto Leocadio to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Eriberto Leocadio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastian Tabor in the 8th minute of play. The supporters of Camboyanos FC booed when Deportivo Merlo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Damian Pacorro didn't get a good kick on the ball. 16 minutes into the match, Deportivo Merlo's goal looked a bit too open when Denis Gipuzkoa came free, but Lázaro Ferran reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A hard shot 17 in the game by Sebastian Tabor from a close distance when the talented Eriberto Leocadio managed to make a qualified save. Camboyanos FC's players were relieved. Eriberto Leocadio made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Sebastian Tabor sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sebastian Tabor got free with Eriberto Leocadio in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 38th minute, Camboyanos FC's Alfredo Columbo seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Alfredo Columbo the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Camboyanos FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Alfredo Columbo had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 38th minute of the game. One of Camboyanos FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Deportivo Merlo:s goal. Freddy Gilabert did an outstanding performance 41 minutes into the match, when he by himself got past the opposing team's defense and with a quick scored 1-0 to the right of an irritated Eriberto Leocadio in the goal.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Maximino Mitxel made a kick off. Lázaro Ferran showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Denis Gipuzkoa, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. In the 57th match minute, Deportivo Merlo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Freddy Gilabert to maneuver through the defense. In a very dangerous position, a player in Deportivo Merlo fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 59th minute. Penalty! In the 61st minute of the game, Camboyanos FC got a penalty. The shot went straight in by the left post. Maximino Mitxel struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Lázaro Ferran didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Camboyanos FC. Sebastian Tabor charged in rather forcefully in the 69th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sebastian Tabor the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Deportivo Merlo getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Sebastian Tabor hit a great ball. Deportivo Merlo's Lázaro Ferran played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maximino Mitxel in the 70th minute of play. Lázaro Ferran made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Denis Gipuzkoa sent off a good shot on target. If Sebastian Tabor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Deportivo Merlo's Lázaro Ferran got control of the ball when Denis Gipuzkoa tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 88thth minute of the game Sebastian Tabor who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Camboyanos FC's Eriberto Leocadio was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 90 played minutes Deportivo Merlo got a freekick which was hit by Freddy Gilabert. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
