The tension between the Solari and the Bumipunco players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 7th minute the ball was on its way in behind Solari's goalkeeper Raimundo Maju, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Josué Zanette received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Raimundo Maju tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Raimundo Maju took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mehmet Emrah Gencay, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 16th match minute, Solari was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ismael Domenec to maneuver through the defense. After 21 minutes, Ismael Domenec mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Solari and the Bumipunco players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 22nd minute Afonso Cruz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raimundo Maju saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 23 minutes into the match, Solari's goalkeeper Raimundo Maju had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Victor Tartalo. Solari were furious when Augusto Pietro was red carded, 24 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 24th minute of the game. After 28 played minutes Solari got a freekick which was hit by Ismael Domenec. When the match had gone on for 29 minutes, Mehmet Emrah Gencay took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Raimundo Maju to make any attempt to save it. In the 31st minute, Luisito Corderro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Inocencio Lorenz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ismael Domenec in the 36th minute of play. Luisito Corderro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 39th minute, Ismael Domenec made a precise shot to the right of Inocencio Lorenz. Bumipunco's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mehmet Emrah Gencay was the one to do the kick off. Josué Zanette sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
