Marcelo Bielsa's Isidro Eskuin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Urbano Chabier in the 15th minute of play. In the 17th minute, Marcelo Bielsa's Alejandro Ramos ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Eugenio Beliran. In the 24thth minute of the game Elpidio Chale who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Defensores del cerro's Eugenio Beliran was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Elpidio Chale managed to get in a good position for a shot. Marcelo Bielsa's supporters rose to their feet, but Elpidio Chale was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eugenio Beliran breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Isidro Eskuin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leopoldo Beltza in the 38th minute of play. The supporters of Marcelo Bielsa booed when Defensores del cerro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Urbano Chabier didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alejandro Ramos during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Elpidio Chale made a kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Urbano Chabier got free with Isidro Eskuin in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Marcelo Bielsa getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Arnoldo Balasi hit a great ball. Leopoldo Beltza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute.
