Baltasar Estevez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Radu Nae having to interfere. Fabricio Rexino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 36 minutes into the match, Vela AFC's goalkeeper Nicolas Flor had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bernabe Beremundo. In the 40th minute, Federico Blanco made a precise shot to the right of Radu Nae. Manchester City's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Radu Nae took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Federico Blanco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bernabe Beremundo made a kick off. If Amador Udalaitz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 53 minutes, Federico Blanco took a quick shot and it went in 2-2 without a chance for Radu Nae to make any attempt to save it. Manchester City made a substitution. Gualterio Lartaun replaced Edgard Quinten. Bernabe Beremundo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nicolas Flor read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 60th minute of play. In the 64th minute Baltasar Estevez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Radu Nae saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Roque Arano's late challenge caught a Manchester City's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
