Ismael Birila blasted a shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Manuel Heriberto having to make a save. Ismael Birila sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Mailín FC getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Celestino Aztore hit a great ball. Mailín FC's Manuel Heriberto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ismael Birila in the 17th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Mailín FC's Paolo Aurken got a free kick in the 17th minute. Eloy Txeru fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manuel Heriberto having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Revolution futbol's Eloy Txeru got a free kick in the 24th minute. In the 25th minute, Celso Libertad hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 29th match minute, Revolution futbol was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luisito Navarro to maneuver through the defense. Mailín FC's Raimundo Iratze couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 30th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Revolution futbol. Manuel Heriberto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eloy Txeru in the 34th minute. 36 minutes in the game, Ismael Birila dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. In the 38th minute Ismael Birila shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manuel Heriberto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carlos-Alberto Menendez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aristides Cordarrol in the 42nd minute of the match. Eloy Txeru sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ismael Birila received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Manuel Heriberto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ismael Birila was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Ismael Birila had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Manuel Heriberto. Mailín FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ismael Birila was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eloy Txeru in the 56th minute of play forced Mailín FC's goalkeeper Manuel Heriberto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 58th minute, Eloy Txeru made a precise shot to the right of Manuel Heriberto. Mailín FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Raimundo Iratze's late challenge caught a Revolution futbol's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Raimundo Iratze helped the player get up and apologised. In a very dangerous position, a player in Mailín FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 64th minute. Penalty! When Luisito Navarro fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Revolution futbol's protests and gave Luisito Navarro a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Revolution futbol's Luisito Navarro got a free kick in the 71st minute. When Ismael Birila came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Revolution futbol fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ismael Birila couldn't finish the play. After 74 minutes, Eloy Txeru made it 4-0 with a short kick to the right side. Mailín FC's Manuel Heriberto tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. During the 78th minute of the match Luisito Navarro completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Luisito Navarro a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Mailín FC booed when Revolution futbol was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luisito Navarro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Javier Hurko came free with the goalkeeper in the 81st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Carlos-Alberto Menendez could save by the left post. Eloy Txeru sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 83 minutes of play Mailín FC's Raimundo Iratze was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Raimundo Iratze kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Eloy Txeru's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Manuel Heriberto was relentless in the 85th minute of the game. After having played for 89 minutes, Eloy Txeru managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Revolution futbol's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eloy Txeru was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Manuel Heriberto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ismael Birila, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Revolution futbol were awarded a corner in the 92th minute after Mailín FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Faustino Oskitz took the corner. 94 minutes into the match, Eloy Txeru had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Manuel Heriberto. Mailín FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Eloy Txeru was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. Ismael Birila might have been able to make a better finish in the 99th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Manuel Heriberto. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ismael Birila ran back to his position shaking his head.
