After 6 minutes of play, Palermo's Julio Ihazintu made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nicolas Conrao was left in no man's land by his defense there! 13 minutes into the match, puerto barranquera's goal looked a bit too open when Salvador Camerino came free, but Nicolas Conrao reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 13th minute, Jorge Palben hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Palermo's Albino Hanot got control of the ball when Nunez Guillerme tried to sneak it across the goal line. 20 minutes into the game, Palermo's Jeronimo Bastia nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nicolas Conrao made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julio Ihazintu in the 24th minute of play forced puerto barranquera's goalkeeper Nicolas Conrao to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Victor Ostots kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Albino Hanot. That made the score 1-2 in the 36 minute of play. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
51 minutes into the game, Moises Ostots was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. puerto barranquera's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Palermo the free kick. After 51 played minutes puerto barranquera got a freekick which was hit by Moises Ostots. Albino Hanot showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Victor Ostots, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Nunez Guillerme sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some careless play in the Palermo defense, Nunez Guillerme kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Albino Hanot. The Palermo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Albino Hanot should have stopped the shot. Jeronimo Bastia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Nicolas Conrao tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Paolo Ermengol took the ball and in the 69 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Albino Hanot. Albino Hanot dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Julio Ihazintu got free with Nicolas Conrao in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Albino Hanot made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victor Ostots in the 75th minute of play. After a rather tough play, puerto barranquera's Hugo Perico got a free kick in the 76th minute. Victor Ostots fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Albino Hanot having to interfere. After having played for 83 minutes, Paolo Ermengol managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. puerto barranquera's supporters crossed their fingers, but Paolo Ermengol was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Paolo Ermengol had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Albino Hanot showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eustaquio Garaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute.
