River Plate's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Marco Loi. Alejandro Dorio received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Aquilino Sansone came out and tried to block the shot, but Alejandro Dorio slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 16th minute. Marco Loi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jairo Leheren in the 19th minute of the match. Zachariasz Zapolski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Aquilino Sansone tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to C.A. River Plate getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Oswaldo Aznar hit a great ball. Marco Loi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jairo Leheren in the 27th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Alejandro Dorio kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Aquilino Sansone. That made the score 2-1 in the 30 minute of play. The supporters of C.A. River Plate booed when Mendiolaza FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Agustin Christobal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aquilino Sansone made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Zachariasz Zapolski sent off a good shot on target. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Epifanio Quilo during the 41st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to C.A. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Zachariasz Zapolski made a kick off. The supporters of C.A. River Plate booed when Mendiolaza FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hermengildo Frances didn't get a good kick on the ball. 52 minutes into the match, Mendiolaza FC's goal looked a bit too open when Zachariasz Zapolski came free, but Aquilino Sansone reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Mendiolaza FC's Hermengildo Frances got a free kick in the 55th minute. Alejandro Dorio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 66 minutes of play, C.A. River Plate's Zachariasz Zapolski made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Aquilino Sansone was left in no man's land by his defense there! 70 minutes into the match, Mendiolaza FC's goal looked a bit too open when Zachariasz Zapolski came free, but Aquilino Sansone reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Jeremias Refugio fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mendiolaza FC's protests and gave Jeremias Refugio a yellow card for diving instead. With 81 minutes on the clock, Stig Byrgren commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 86 minutes into the game, Edgardo Lopes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. C.A. River Plate's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mendiolaza FC the free kick. A collision led to C.A. River Plate getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Edgardo Lopes hit a great ball. In the 92nd minute, Ovidio Suero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 93 played minutes Mendiolaza FC got a freekick which was hit by Agustin Christobal. After a defensive mix-up in Mendiolaza FC's zone, Edgardo Lopes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aquilino Sansone came out of the goal and Edgardo Lopes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. There was no doubt that C.A. River Plate were the better team. C.A. River Plate's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
