Artemio Michael made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gatot Macri in the 4th minute of play. Fausto Gentza kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. After having played for 5 minutes, Gatot Macri managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. River Plate's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gatot Macri was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 7th minute, Luis Primo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ermegildo Poz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luis Primo charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luis Primo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 21st minute, Luis Primo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A throw-in in the 22nd minute of the game was made by Ladislao Guillelmus with Eliseo Pueblo as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Carlos Cebrian showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fausto Gentza in the 25th minute of the match. Venancio Bidari recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Carlos Cebrian didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Godofredo Baraquiel went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. The audience was convinced that Godofredo Baraquiel's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Carlos Cebrian was relentless in the 42nd minute of the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Roque Uxio during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 46 played minutes River Plate got a freekick which was hit by Roque Uxio. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Godofredo Baraquiel to make the kick off. Venancio Bidari sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Club Somisa's Artemio Michael got control of the ball when Humberto Tximitx tried to sneak it across the goal line. Isaac Bermudez hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. After having played for 72 minutes, Humberto Tximitx managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. River Plate's supporters crossed their fingers, but Humberto Tximitx was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Humberto Tximitx succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-1 in the 73rd playminute. Jimeno Perutxo hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Godofredo Baraquiel in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Carlos Cebrian prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Marciano Frasco kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Fausto Gentza's late challenge caught a River Plate's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fausto Gentza helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Club Somisa's Fausto Gentza got a free kick in the 88th minute. In the 93rd match minute, River Plate was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Humberto Tximitx to maneuver through the defense. After 96 played minutes Club Somisa got a freekick which was hit by Isaac Constancio. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Club Somisa fans cheered their team off the field, for while River Plate had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
