Epifanio Geofredo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Enrique Firmin in the 19th minute of the match. If Jaime Eladio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Tobantirenda FC booed when river plate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. David Osoro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jaime Eladio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Epifanio Geofredo having to interfere. Dario Celipe might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gaspar Belmiro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dario Celipe ran back to his position shaking his head. Guaberto Lucila's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 41stth minute, Gaspar Belmiro skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Tobantirenda FC's Gaspar Belmiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dario Celipe in the 43rd minute of play. Dario Celipe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jaime Eladio to make the kick off. If Dario Celipe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 56 minutes, Guaberto Lucila made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Tobantirenda FC's Gaspar Belmiro tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Gaspar Belmiro came out of the goal in the 59th minute to try and stop a shot by river plate's Guaberto Lucila. But to his dismay, Guaberto Lucila quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. If Guaberto Lucila had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fernan Ur hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. river plate's David Osoro got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dario Celipe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 77th minute, Guaberto Lucila ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gaspar Belmiro was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. In the 82nd match minute, Tobantirenda FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Feliciano Elodio to maneuver through the defense. 85 minutes into the game, Diego Libertad was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tobantirenda FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave river plate the free kick. Diego Libertad hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. In the 96th minute of the match Iker Burni sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gaspar Belmiro skillfully saved the ball. river plate walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
