The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Esteve Florian received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Justo Abalos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Serodino FC's Wieslaw Birkenhagen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Basilio Gilesindo in the 12th minute of play. Esteve Florian hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. When Rodolfo Sidro came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Serodino FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rodolfo Sidro couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Providencia's zone, Rodolfo Sidro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Justo Abalos came out of the goal and Rodolfo Sidro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 27th minute, Serodino FC's Osvaldo Lluterio ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Justo Abalos. Justo Abalos yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. In the 32nd minute, Teodosio Atarratze hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Raul Gagriel during the 35th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Providencia's Raul Gagriel got a free kick in the 35th minute. Esteve Florians short, quick shot in the 37thth minute got Justo Abalos to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 41st minute, Serodino FC's Teodosio Atarratze seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Teodosio Atarratze the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Serodino FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Teodosio Atarratze had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The supporters of Providencia booed when Serodino FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teodosio Atarratze didn't get a good kick on the ball. 45 minutes into the game, Providencia's Basilio Gilesindo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Wieslaw Birkenhagen made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Esteve Florian to make the kick off. Serodino FC's Wieslaw Birkenhagen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Basilio Gilesindo in the 55th minute of play. After having played for 58 minutes, Rodolfo Sidro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Serodino FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rodolfo Sidro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rodolfo Sidro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Esteve Florian's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Justo Abalos was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. If Rodolfo Sidro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wieslaw Birkenhagen made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Basilio Gilesindo sent off a good shot on target. Alejo Iigo struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Wieslaw Birkenhagen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Providencia. The crowd rose to their feet as Providencia's Basilio Gilesindo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Wieslaw Birkenhagen. That made the score 1-2 after 76 minutes of play. In the 79th minute, Providencia's Faustino Handi dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Basilio Gilesindo in the 86th minute of play forced Serodino FC's goalkeeper Wieslaw Birkenhagen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 86th match minute, Serodino FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Severiano Abeitia to maneuver through the defense. The Providencia supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Providencia would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
