Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Tadeo Florin took the kick off in the first half of the match. After a rather tough play, Catedra FC's Tadeo Florin got a free kick in the 3rd minute. Santo Jokin's late challenge caught a River Plate's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Santo Jokin helped the player get up and apologised. Santo Jokin hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. 9 minutes into the game, River Plate's Abel Intxixu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Saul Furman made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. The supporters of Catedra FC booed when River Plate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Clemente Jerano didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 22 minutes, Geronimo Argi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Catedra FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Geronimo Argi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 24 minutes into the match, River Plate's goalkeeper Benigno Marquez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tadeo Florin. Benigno Marquez made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Geronimo Argi sent off a good shot on target. 26 minutes into the match, River Plate's goal looked a bit too open when Tadeo Florin came free, but Benigno Marquez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elpidio Jurgi in the 28th minute of play forced River Plate's goalkeeper Benigno Marquez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Haroldo Lucado fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored River Plate's protests and gave Haroldo Lucado a yellow card for diving instead. Haroldo Lucado kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. In the 32nd minute, Tadeo Florin ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benigno Marquez was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. 37 minutes into the match, Abel Intxixu notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Catedra FC's Saul Furman. Saul Furman was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tadeo Florin got free with Benigno Marquez in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. River Plate's Benigno Marquez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save River Plate from getting a goal against them. In the 50th minute of the match River Plate got a corner. Catedra FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Clemente Jerano ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Clemente Jerano got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Saul Furman quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After the first half River Plate were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ceferino Urdaspal was the one to do the kick off. River Plate were awarded a corner in the 56th minute after Catedra FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Clemente Jerano took the corner. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Catedra FC's goalie and right to Elpidio Rico. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Catedra FC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Jeremy Anderson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Benigno Marquez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. River Plate made a substitution. Santo Crispo replaced Abel Intxixu. Saul Furman made an important save on a dangerous shot by Elpidio Rico in the 68th minute. A collision led to Catedra FC getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Jeremy Anderson hit a great ball. A hard shot by Gilabert Mardones from long distance, 74 minutes into the match, got Saul Furman's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Elpidio Rico scored 1-4 in the 75th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Saul Furman, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Catedra FC's Saul Furman proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save Catedra FC from getting a goal against them. Benigno Marquez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tadeo Florin in the 81st minute of play. After 85 played minutes Catedra FC got a freekick which was hit by Tadeo Florin. Catedra FC's Saul Furman proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save Catedra FC from getting a goal against them. Saul Furman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ceferino Urdaspal, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Geronimo Argi kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Catedra FC's Tadeo Florin got a free kick in the 89th minute. 91 minutes into the match, Elpidio Rico dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Saul Furman, 1-5. Ceferino Urdaspal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Saul Furman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. River Plate's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
