In the 14th minute Ernesto Peli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacinto Birjaio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 17th minute of the match, Robustiano Chucho got a very nice opportunity to score, but Edgardo Sancho was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Osvaldo Cai sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Quilmes booed when White Dragons was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teobaldo Maxin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Robustiano Chucho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgardo Sancho having to interfere. 27 minutes into the game, Jorge Naldo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. White Dragons's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Quilmes the free kick. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Severo Abecia made a kick off. In the 54th minute, Osvaldo Cai hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Teobaldo Maxin took the ball and in the 56 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jacinto Birjaio. Jacinto Birjaio dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. Jacinto Birjaio made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Humberto Cordaryal sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teobaldo Maxin in the 66th minute of play forced Quilmes's goalkeeper Jacinto Birjaio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Quilmes getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Tomás Camerino hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Abelardo Pello in the 73rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jacinto Birjaio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Enrique Paio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Abelardo Pello's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 82ndth minute, Jacinto Birjaio skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Quilmes's Jacinto Birjaio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save Quilmes from getting a goal against them. Severo Abecia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Edgardo Sancho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Edgardo Sancho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Robustiano Chucho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
