Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alejandro Cordarin in the 7th minute a chance for a shot on goal. When Bogdan Pietrowicz fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Antofalla FC's protests and gave Bogdan Pietrowicz a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Antofalla FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 14th minute. Penalty! Antofalla FC:s Silvano Osorio showed great skill when he stopped Juarês Pernambucano:s penalty. Antofalla FC's Alejandro Cordarin got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in La Plata FC's zone, Raimundo Liher stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Enrique Pio came out of the goal and Raimundo Liher tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. La Plata FC's Juarês Pernambucano got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Juarês Pernambucano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Silvano Osorio having to interfere. When La Plata FC's Alberto Marcico in the 41st minute got a chance for a shot 41st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Antofalla FC's goalie prevented a goal. After the first half La Plata FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Juarês Pernambucano was the one to do the kick off. 54 minutes into the match, Juarês Pernambucano had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Silvano Osorio. Antofalla FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Juarês Pernambucano was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. The supporters of Antofalla FC booed when La Plata FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mehmet Topuzov didn't get a good kick on the ball. Enrique Pio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raimundo Liher in the 61st minute of the match. Alberto Marcico sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 67th match minute, La Plata FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felipe Esdras to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Antofalla FC's zone, Juarês Pernambucano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Silvano Osorio came out of the goal and Juarês Pernambucano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Alberto Marcico had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The La Plata FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing La Plata FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
