The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Camilo Gorbea during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Peñarol de Montevideo F.C getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Camilo Gorbea hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Hermengildo Cedro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Peñarol de Montevideo F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Hermengildo Cedro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Orlando Sotero breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 18 minutes into the match, Peñarol de Montevideo F.C's Hermengildo Cedro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Orlando Sotero narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Omar Machado kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. In the 25th minute of the match Camilo Gorbea sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Orlando Sotero skillfully saved the ball. Camilo Gorbea took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Orlando Sotero. Orlando Sotero dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Enes Tandoruk in the 37th minute of play forced Peñarol de Montevideo F.C's goalkeeper Luciano Pello to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Enes Tandoruk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 42nd minute Enes Tandoruk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luciano Pello saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Andrade AFC's Mauricio Sadurni got a free kick in the 44th minute. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Camilo Gorbea to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Samuel Lekubegi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Andrade AFC getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Mauricio Sadurni hit a great ball. Orlando Sotero took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hermengildo Cedro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 58 minutes into the game, Peñarol de Montevideo F.C's Camilo Gorbea nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Orlando Sotero made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Elpidio Acuña fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luciano Pello having to interfere. If Elpidio Acuña had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 83rd match minute, Peñarol de Montevideo F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Baldomero Iraunkor to maneuver through the defense. In the 86th minute Enes Tandoruk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luciano Pello saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 90 minutes into the match, Peñarol de Montevideo F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Enes Tandoruk came free, but Luciano Pello reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Andrade AFC's attentive Anselmo Hurko managed to snatch the ball when Camilo Cristos made a throw-in in the 92nd minute of the game. If Enes Tandoruk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Elpidio Acuña struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Luciano Pello didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Andrade AFC. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Peñarol de Montevideo F.C walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
