Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Miguel Velasco started the match with the kick off. Feliciano Chorache made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Velasco in the 3rd minute of play. In the 4th match minute, Laguna was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcelo Oton to maneuver through the defense. Eliseo Iztal hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Laguna's zone, Edelmiro Bidari stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fermin Bazkoare came out of the goal and Edelmiro Bidari tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Igor Niva was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 10 minutes into the match. After 9 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Laguna! When Raimundo Nuñez fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Boca Juniors FC's protests and gave Raimundo Nuñez a yellow card for diving instead. Feliciano Chorache took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eliseo Iztal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 19 played minutes Boca Juniors FC got a freekick which was hit by Primitivo Sal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ramón Medina Bello in the 23rd minute of play forced Laguna's goalkeeper Fermin Bazkoare to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind Laguna's goalkeeper Fermin Bazkoare, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Fermin Bazkoare took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Astor Toribio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Albert Hedling got free with Fermin Bazkoare in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Albert Hedling might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fermin Bazkoare. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Albert Hedling ran back to his position shaking his head. Astor Toribio scored 2-0 in the 38th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fermin Bazkoare, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Laguna booed when Boca Juniors FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cesar Montay didn't get a good kick on the ball. Feliciano Chorache showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristo Medero, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Astor Toribio to make the kick off. In the 51st match minute, Laguna was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carolo Turi to maneuver through the defense. Primitivo Sal took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 52nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Fermin Bazkoare. Laguna's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Feliciano Chorache made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Carolo Turi sent off a good shot on target. Fermin Bazkoare made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ramón Medina Bello in the 55th minute of play. In the 57th minute, Astor Toribio made a precise shot to the right of Fermin Bazkoare.
