After some careless play in the Union Francesa defense, Ovidio Manny kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Placido Richie. The Union Francesa fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Placido Richie should have stopped the shot. Ovidio Manny might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Placido Richie. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ovidio Manny ran back to his position shaking his head. Placido Richie took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ovidio Manny, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ovidio Manny might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Placido Richie. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ovidio Manny ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 91st minute, Fernando Txilar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ovidio Manny fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Placido Richie having to interfere. Ovidio Manny received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Placido Richie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Union Francesa's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
