But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rolf Boyesen couldn't finish the play. Mauricio Inautzi took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 23rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Generoso Darien. Messi FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Latero AFC's Arturo Herena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gaston Iturri in the 31st minute of play. 3-0 became the score in the 37th minute when Conrado Urtats elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Generoso Darien made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Everardo Constancio in the 41st minute of play. A collision led to Latero AFC getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Tibor Lányi hit a great ball. A hard shot 43 in the game by Rolf Boyesen from a close distance when the talented Arturo Herena managed to make a qualified save. Latero AFC's players were relieved. After 44 played minutes Latero AFC got a freekick which was hit by Cosme Quintyn. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

After some careless play in the Messi FC defense, Everardo Constancio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Generoso Darien. The Messi FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Generoso Darien should have stopped the shot. In the 69th minute, Tibor Lányi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Domingo Jakes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Generoso Darien having to interfere. Arturo Herena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Conrado Urtats, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. Messi FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
