Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Lázaro Artaldo got the match started through his kick off. A collision led to Independencia getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Juan-Francisco Sainz hit a great ball. Fernan Urdin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Fabien Barthez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Severo Otsoa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hakkı Kenan Ahmetoğlu having to interfere. When Severo Otsoa came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Independencia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Severo Otsoa couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lázaro Artaldo in the 28th minute of play forced Juan 316 Recargado's goalkeeper Hakkı Kenan Ahmetoğlu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 31 minutes into the game, Ismael Gerazan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Juan 316 Recargado's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Independencia the free kick. If Wilfredo Pello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Wilfredo Pello kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Fabien Barthez. That made the score 2-0 in the 43 minute of play. Juan-Francisco Sainz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fernan Urdin was the one to do the kick off. Fabien Barthez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fernan Urdin in the 53rd minute of play. Lázaro Artaldo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hakkı Kenan Ahmetoğlu having to interfere. Fabien Barthez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Florencio Llope, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alejo Blai received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Hakkı Kenan Ahmetoğlu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Florencio Llope hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Lázaro Artaldo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. The supporters of Independencia booed when Juan 316 Recargado was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ismael Gerazan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lázaro Artaldos short, quick shot in the 76thth minute got Hakkı Kenan Ahmetoğlu to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Fabien Barthez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wilfredo Pello, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Serafino Gotzon hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. After 80 played minutes Independencia got a freekick which was hit by Lázaro Artaldo. Fabien Barthez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fernan Urdin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bernardino Gonzales kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. Independencia's Albino Abarca shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 96th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Hakkı Kenan Ahmetoğlu but with some difficulty. Independencia's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
