Valentin Gutierrez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Clodoveo Orlandus, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. A very good chance. 15 minutes into the match, Paolo Rio notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Elena's Valentin Gutierrez. Valentin Gutierrez was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Esteban Fuertes struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Valentin Gutierrez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Despertador. After some careless play in the Elena defense, Braulio Rodriguez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Valentin Gutierrez. The Elena fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Valentin Gutierrez should have stopped the shot. Mateo Rio struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Valentin Gutierrez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Despertador. In the 27th minute Clodoveo Orlandus shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valentin Gutierrez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 29 minutes into the game, Braulio Rodriguez cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Valentin Gutierrez was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 33 minutes into the game, Aldo Satordi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Elena's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Despertador the free kick. Aldo Satordi kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Braulio Rodriguez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mateo Rio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 38th minute, Esteban Fuertes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Valentin Gutierrez was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. Anier Medero made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Armando Ranolfo sent off a good shot on target. 48 minutes into the match, Elena's goal looked a bit too open when Esteban Fuertes came free, but Valentin Gutierrez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Placido Birila to make the kick off. After 55 minutes of play Elena's Aldo Satordi was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The supporters of Despertador booed when Elena was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aldo Satordi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Esteban Fuertes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mateo Rio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Armando Ranolfo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Esteban Fuertes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Valentin Gutierrez came out of the goal in the 69th minute to try and stop a shot by Despertador's Braulio Rodriguez. But to his dismay, Braulio Rodriguez quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. Esteban Fuertes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Valentin Gutierrez having to make a save. Mateo Rio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Braulio Rodriguez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valentin Gutierrez having to interfere. In the 80th minute, Esteban Fuertes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hector Markel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valentin Gutierrez having to interfere. Esteban Fuertes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Elena's zone, Clodoveo Orlandus stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valentin Gutierrez came out of the goal and Clodoveo Orlandus tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Esteban Fuertes got free with Valentin Gutierrez in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Elena's Valentin Gutierrez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mateo Rio in the 93rd minute of play. Despertador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
