After 15 played minutes, Ataliva AFC's Placido Gagriel shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Emilio Jatsu came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ataliva AFC reached it. After 15 played minutes Ataliva AFC got a freekick which was hit by Placido Gagriel. Talleres Cba.'s Emilio Jatsu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eustacio Aires in the 27th minute of play. Nikos Perakoglou charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. After a defensive mix-up in Ataliva AFC's zone, Cirilo Dolfo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Saverio Maore came out of the goal and Cirilo Dolfo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 45th minute Jonatan Hever shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emilio Jatsu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Cirilo Dolfo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
