The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Octavio Bonadona received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 2nd minute. Emilio Jatsu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 4 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ciudadela FC! The audience thought a goal was coming when Domingos Piorno got free with Emilio Jatsu in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Hilario Jerrold fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Esteve Aires having to interfere. 33 minutes into the match, Talleres Cba.'s Cirilo Dolfo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Esteve Aires narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Cirilo Dolfo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 40 played minutes Talleres Cba. got a freekick which was hit by Fabricio Enmanuel. After a rather tough play, Ciudadela FC's Octavio Bonadona got a free kick in the 45th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Justino Hernandez to make the kick off. When Octavio Bonadona fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ciudadela FC's protests and gave Octavio Bonadona a yellow card for diving instead. Octavio Bonadona kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. After some careless play in the Ciudadela FC defense, Alfred Vase kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Esteve Aires. The Ciudadela FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Esteve Aires should have stopped the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Anselmo Tino during the 59th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 59th minute, Anselmo Tino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cirilo Dolfo hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Emilio Jatsu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anselmo Tino in the 63rd minute of play. Talleres Cba.'s Emilio Jatsu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Octavio Bonadona in the 64th minute of play. After 64 played minutes Talleres Cba. got a freekick which was hit by Nikos Perakoglou. 70 minutes into the game, one of Ciudadela FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Esteve Aires went to the wrong direction when Felix Kiliz was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Segundo Tabby who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 76thth minute tested the skills of Esteve Aires when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Emilio Jatsu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Justino Hernandez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Segundo Tabby sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Emilio Jatsu came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by Ciudadela FC's Justino Hernandez. But to his dismay, Justino Hernandez quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Talleres Cba.'s Emilio Jatsu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Domingos Piorno in the 92nd minute of play. If Cirilo Dolfo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 96th minute, Segundo Tabby made a precise shot to the right of Esteve Aires. Ciudadela FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. When the match was over Talleres Cba. could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Ciudadela FC throughout the match.
