The referee showed Niceto Etxahun the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Niceto Etxahun hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. 11 minutes into the match, Anselmo Guib had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rui Barral. River Plate's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Anselmo Guib was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 18th minute Marcos Rito shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rui Barral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bernabe Azeari was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 24th minute. River Plate's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 25th minute, River Plate's Teo Rebellon dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Cristo Jaunti made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bernabe Azeari in the 29th minute. Rui Barral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcos Rito in the 34th minute of play. If Teo Rebellon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Bernabe Azeari sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. River Plate's Rui Barral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcos Rito in the 44th minute of play. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcos Rito in the 66th minute of play forced River Plate's goalkeeper Rui Barral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. River Plate's Rui Barral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcos Rito in the 68th minute of play. Anselmo Guib took the ball and in the 69 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rui Barral. Rui Barral dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. 73 minutes into the match, Bernabe Azeari notched a goal, 2-3, to the right of Piquirenda AFC's Cristo Jaunti. Cristo Jaunti was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Bernabe Azeari had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 80 minutes into the match, River Plate's goal looked a bit too open when Amado Lixandro came free, but Rui Barral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 84th minute, Ovidio Jerano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ruperto Erdiano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Rui Barral made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Marcos Rito managed to get in a good position for a shot. Piquirenda AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcos Rito was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rui Barral breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 92 played minutes River Plate got a freekick which was hit by Teo Rebellon.
