When Delmiro Pereyra fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Borreguitos's protests and gave Delmiro Pereyra a yellow card for diving instead. In the 8th minute there was a penalty for Lavalle AFC. Daniel Cordearo stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Raul Abastas. 0-1. With a little luck, Lavalle AFC's Hugo Banegas got control of the ball when Gaston Quintyn tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the match clock showed 24 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Gaston Quintyn sped through Lavalle AFC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Hugo Banegas. Lavalle AFC's Hugo Banegas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Lavalle AFC from getting a goal against them. In the 28th minute of the game, Cirilo Mederi landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. Borreguitos made a substitution. Adan Rutenio replaced Cirilo Mederi. The supporters of Borreguitos booed when Lavalle AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Godfredo Argina didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Lavalle AFC's zone, Gaston Quintyn stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hugo Banegas came out of the goal and Gaston Quintyn tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gaston Quintyn to make the kick off. Hugo Banegas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Albino Palben in the 53rd minute of the match. After 55 played minutes Lavalle AFC got a freekick which was hit by Adan Txurio. A collision led to Borreguitos getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Gaston Quintyn hit a great ball. Raul Abastas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abelardo Gonza, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. If Gaston Quintyn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Hugo Banegas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adan Rutenio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 80thth minute of the game Gaston Quintyn who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lavalle AFC's Hugo Banegas was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Albino Palben received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Hugo Banegas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 88 minutes into the match, Lavalle AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Gaston Quintyn came free, but Hugo Banegas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Borreguitos's Gaston Quintyn in the 90th minute got a chance for a shot 90th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Lavalle AFC's goalie prevented a goal. Hugo Banegas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gaston Quintyn in the 91st minute of play. Borreguitos's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Victorino Marquez 96 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-2. The Borreguitos manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Lavalle AFC to win.
