In the 10thth minute of the game Bernardino Salvidor who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Il Catenaccio's Roman Ruy was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 10 played minutes Il Catenaccio got a freekick which was hit by Sandrinho Baiano. The audience was convinced that Tomás Galeno's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benjamim Fonseca was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Bernardino Salvidor made the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Inocencio Florin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Edelmiro Bixintxo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roman Ruy having to interfere. If Tomás Galeno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Il Catenaccio's zone, Bernardino Salvidor stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roman Ruy came out of the goal and Bernardino Salvidor tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
