In the 17th minute, Lázaro Senin made a precise shot to the right of Alejandro Gartzea. Churqui's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Alejandro Gartzea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Angelo Maxin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Evaristo Unai's late challenge caught a Churqui's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Evaristo Unai helped the player get up and apologised. After 35 played minutes Choro Croto FC got a freekick which was hit by Evaristo Unai. Aurelio Sergi, 36 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The supporters of Choro Croto FC booed when Churqui was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aurelio Sergi didn't get a good kick on the ball. With 44 minutes on the clock, Javier Javiar commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 44th minute of the game. One of Choro Croto FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Churqui:s goal. After 46 minutes Choro Croto FC's goalkeeper Lorenzo Labarbe managed, with a little bit of luck, save Aurelio Sergi's penalty, on his right side after a tricky shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Angelo Maxin to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lázaro Senin got free with Alejandro Gartzea in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Angelo Maxin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jose Mateus hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Lorenzo Labarbe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristo Illart, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristo Illart in the 81st minute of play forced Choro Croto FC's goalkeeper Lorenzo Labarbe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lorenzo Labarbe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabio Harkaitz in the 83rd minute of the match. Alejandro Gartzea stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Angelo Maxin's shot from short distance in the 86th minute. Angelo Maxin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 93rd minute Pablo Chumo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lorenzo Labarbe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Choro Croto FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Choro Croto FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
