Martín Villarreal took the ball and in the 16 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Primitivo Barros. Primitivo Barros dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 29 minutes into the game, Ignacio Frye was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Villarreal Futbol Club's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ayacucho the free kick. In the 29th match minute, Villarreal Futbol Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ignacio Frye to maneuver through the defense. Patricio Beltxe's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 34thth minute, Benito Elequemedo skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. With an all-out effort, Ayacucho's Benito Elequemedo threw himself towards the right post 42 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Patricio Beltxe, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Ankaios Kalakos took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Primitivo Barros. Primitivo Barros dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. After the first half Villarreal Futbol Club were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ankaios Kalakos to strike the kick off in the second half. Villarreal Futbol Club's Martín Villarreal was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 55th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Zacarias Vela sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match clock showed 65 minutes, the score became 1-5 when Ankaios Kalakos sped through Ayacucho's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Primitivo Barros. Martín Villarreals short, quick shot in the 70thth minute got Primitivo Barros to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Primitivo Barros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ankaios Kalakos, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. 76 minutes into the match, Martín Villarreal notched a goal, 1-6, to the right of Ayacucho's Primitivo Barros. Primitivo Barros was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 79 minutes in the game, Martín Villarreal fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Primitivo Barros having to interfere. A collision led to Villarreal Futbol Club getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Clodoveo Tercero hit a great ball. In the 83rd minute Patricio Beltxe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Elequemedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Villarreal Futbol Club's Ignacio Frye got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 90 minutes into the match, Ayacucho's goalkeeper Primitivo Barros had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Martín Villarreal. Ankaios Kalakos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Primitivo Barros having to interfere. A hard, long distance shot from Ankaios Kalakos flew over the goal. The Villarreal Futbol Club supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Villarreal Futbol Club would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
