Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Banfield FC's Dobromir Banan started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Lucio Christobal fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Banfield FC's protests and gave Lucio Christobal a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Arana booed when Banfield FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lucio Christobal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Felix Obano stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gabriel Beltran's shot from short distance in the 6th minute. If Rogelio Abecia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Evelio Nesor during the 10th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 10 played minutes Banfield FC got a freekick which was hit by Evelio Nesor. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jonas Bartoleme in the 18th minute of play forced Banfield FC's goalkeeper Felix Obano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Banfield FC's Felix Obano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonas Bartoleme in the 24th minute of play. In the 25th minute of the match Roman Pirmin shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Felix Obano showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Jonas Bartoleme had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonas Bartoleme sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 34th minute, Gabriel Beltran got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Alfonso Mikeldi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Banfield FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Alfonso Mikeldi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eduardo Abeijon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind Banfield FC's goalkeeper Felix Obano, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Gabriel Beltran recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 56th minute Dobromir Banan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eduardo Abeijon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 61st minute, Jonas Bartoleme got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 62nd match minute, Banfield FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Donato Maura to maneuver through the defense. Dobromir Banan hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gabriel Beltran in the 70th minute of play forced Banfield FC's goalkeeper Felix Obano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 74 minutes, Aurelio Heriberto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Arana and the Banfield FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 75th match minute, Arana was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aurelio Heriberto to maneuver through the defense. Rogelio Abecia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Felix Obano made a huge save. In the 81st minute, Gabriel Beltran reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Felix Obano. The goal made the score 0-1. Alfonso Mikeldi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eduardo Abeijon having to interfere. Lucio Christobal took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eduardo Abeijon. Eduardo Abeijon dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. With a little luck, Banfield FC's Felix Obano got control of the ball when Jonas Bartoleme tried to sneak it across the goal line. Felix Obano made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Jonas Bartoleme sent off a good shot on target. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
