In the 8th minute Genaro Reno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Federico Cresitobalo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vicente Ortzi in the 12th minute of play forced Ichipuca's goalkeeper Joaquin Sabin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Federico Cresitobalo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Genaro Reno in the 15th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Yacuy defense, Fidel Hats kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Federico Cresitobalo. The Yacuy fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Federico Cresitobalo should have stopped the shot. Vicente Ortzi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eulalio Herrera's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Joaquin Sabin firmly grabbed it by the left post. Federico Cresitobalo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristo Platon in the 34th minute of play. In the 38th minute, Claudio Felipillo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Federico Cresitobalo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Genaro Reno, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 43 minutes, Fidel Hats managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ichipuca's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fidel Hats was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Genaro Reno made a kick off. Federico Cresitobalo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristo Platon in the 53rd minute. Yacuy were furious when Claudio Felipillo was red carded, 53 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. A collision led to Yacuy getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Claudio Felipillo hit a great ball. Nunez Sal, 55 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Joaquin Sabin came out of the goal in the 58th minute to try and stop a shot by Yacuy 's Eulalio Herrera. But to his dismay, Eulalio Herrera quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. The audience was convinced that Genaro Reno's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Federico Cresitobalo was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. Joaquin Sabin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eulalio Herrera in the 63rd minute of the match. In the 65th minute Genaro Reno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Federico Cresitobalo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 66 minutes, Teobaldo Hernando mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ichipuca and the Yacuy players grew even worse after the yellow card.
