In the 29th minute, Deportivo Merlo's Israel Quinton ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Marcelino Mincho. Marcelino Mincho yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Placido Milio made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Calafate's Honorio Cordareo got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Israel Quinton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Marcelino Mincho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Deportivo Merlo's Teofilo Joachim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Honorio Cordareo in the 57th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Honorio Cordareo in the 59th minute of play forced Deportivo Merlo's goalkeeper Teofilo Joachim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hilario Garoa took the ball and in the 64 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marcelino Mincho. Marcelino Mincho dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-3. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Israel Quinton managed to get in a good position for a shot. Deportivo Merlo's supporters rose to their feet, but Israel Quinton was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcelino Mincho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
