Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 18 minutes into the match, S.CyD Santa Rita's goal looked a bit too open when Rodolfo Nalo came free, but Gustavo Birjaio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Merced's Felipe Cordairo got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gustavo Birjaio made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Merced's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave S.CyD Santa Rita the free kick. In the 91st match minute, Merced was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Desiderio Argider to maneuver through the defense. After 97 minutes, Angel Lorencio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the S.CyD Santa Rita and the Merced players grew even worse after the yellow card.
