Luís Reis started the match with the kick off. Ruben Gasteiz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martin Galeno having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 12 minutes, Zé Augusto Vides put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Bertil Lindsten. After having played for 19 minutes, Luís Reis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Los Rebos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luís Reis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 19th match minute, Millonarios FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Victorio Uxio to maneuver through the defense. 23 minutes into the game, Leandro Cordearo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Millonarios FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Los Rebos the free kick. After a rather tough play, Millonarios FC's Leandro Cordearo got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Millonarios FC's Bertil Lindsten played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Reis in the 24th minute of play. After 26 minutes, Fabio Clementi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Los Rebos and the Millonarios FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 26 played minutes Los Rebos got a freekick which was hit by Fabio Clementi. When Mauricio Txaran fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Los Rebos's protests and gave Mauricio Txaran a yellow card for diving instead. In the 29th minute, Mauricio Txaran hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Los Rebos booed when Millonarios FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Herminio Boniel didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 33rd minute Zé Augusto Vides shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bertil Lindsten saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Martin Galeno showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edvaldo Mumbach in the 37th minute of the match. Domingos Orlondo made a great header on Millonarios FC's corner, it was just that Los Rebos's Martin Galeno managed to reach the ball for a save. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ruben Gasteiz to strike the kick off in the second half. Luís Reis took the ball and in the 51 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bertil Lindsten. Bertil Lindsten dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. After 57 minutes of play, Los Rebos's Mauricio Txaran made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bertil Lindsten was left in no man's land by his defense there! Zé Augusto Vides could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Bertil Lindsten made a huge save. Victorio Uxio hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Zé Augusto Vides struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Bertil Lindsten didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Los Rebos. If Luís Reis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edvaldo Mumbach fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martin Galeno having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Domingos Orlondo during the 72nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Rodrigo Abreu hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Edvaldo Mumbach received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Martin Galeno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Los Rebos booed when Millonarios FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Herminio Boniel didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 90th minute Mateo Eutropio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Martin Galeno saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Millonarios FC manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Los Rebos to win.
