The audience was convinced that Ambrosio Quintana's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gabriel Ermano was relentless in the 5th minute of the game. Corralito's Severo Rosalio quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Gaspar Lertxun, made in the 7th minute of the game. Sporting Nacional's Adriana Heriberto got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 21 minutes, Elpidio Leheren managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Corralito's supporters crossed their fingers, but Elpidio Leheren was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ambrosio Quintana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gabriel Ermano having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luciano Ofelio in the 26th minute of play forced Corralito's goalkeeper Ignacio Ascencio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ambrosio Quintana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 33 minutes, Gogo Salvino mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sporting Nacional and the Corralito players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 33 played minutes Sporting Nacional got a freekick which was hit by Gogo Salvino. 36 minutes into the match, Sporting Nacional's Feliciano Venceslao sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ignacio Ascencio narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ignacio Ascencio came out of the goal in the 39th minute to try and stop a shot by Sporting Nacional's Luciano Ofelio. But to his dismay, Luciano Ofelio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After the first half Sporting Nacional were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ambrosio Quintana stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ambrosio Quintana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gabriel Ermano having to interfere. 54 minutes into the game, Ramiro Marques cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Gabriel Ermano was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Gabriel Ermano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ambrosio Quintana in the 59th minute of the match. In the 61stth minute of the game Ambrosio Quintana who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sporting Nacional's Gabriel Ermano was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Luciano Ofelio in the 62ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Ignacio Ascencio, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luciano Ofelio in the 64th minute of play forced Corralito's goalkeeper Ignacio Ascencio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luciano Ofelio got free with Ignacio Ascencio in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 73rd match minute, Sporting Nacional was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gaspar Lertxun to maneuver through the defense. In the 82nd minute, Joseph Braarud hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The attack was good, but when Ambrosio Quintana in the 83rd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Gabriel Ermano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ambrosio Quintana, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. A collision led to Sporting Nacional getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Jacobo Pinto hit a great ball. 95 minutes into the match, Corralito's goalkeeper Ignacio Ascencio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luciano Ofelio. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
