Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Leonel Piorno got the match started through his kick off. After 4 minutes of play, atlas's Leonel Piorno made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Teodoro Caetano was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 10th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gimnasia y esgrima's goalkeeper Teodoro Caetano, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Benjamin Haritzeder didn't get a good kick on the ball. 26 minutes into the match, Gimnasia y esgrima's goal looked a bit too open when Leonel Piorno came free, but Teodoro Caetano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Benjamin Haritzeder sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marcelino Maureo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Timoteo Valery made a huge save. In the 39th minute, Leonel Piorno got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The attack was good, but when Leonel Piorno in the 41st minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Aristides Pello received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Teodoro Caetano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The referee ignored Gimnasia y esgrima's protests and gave Sergio Rioja a yellow card for diving instead. Teodosio Papo got his second yellow card in the match during the 83rd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 83rd match minute, Gimnasia y esgrima was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teodosio Papo to maneuver through the defense. Justo Harkaitz kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Candido Reyes struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Teodoro Caetano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for atlas. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Leonel Piorno managed to get in a good position for a shot. atlas's supporters rose to their feet, but Leonel Piorno was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Teodoro Caetano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 96 minutes into the match, atlas's goal looked a bit too open when Benjamin Haritzeder came free, but Timoteo Valery reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. atlas's Leonel Piorno got a good chance for a goal in the 98th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
