With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gustavo Rios in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Teodoro Caetano saved Gimnasia y esgrima from getting behind. After 33 played minutes Gimnasia y esgrima got a freekick which was hit by Sergio Rioja. Benicio Luzea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gimnasia y esgrima's goalkeeper Teodoro Caetano, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Benicio Luzea managed to get in a good position for a shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gustavo Rios in the 71st minute of play forced Gimnasia y esgrima's goalkeeper Teodoro Caetano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
