In the 4th minute, Octav Hălmăgeanu made a precise shot to the right of Rene Astrada. Vela's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Hugo Diegotxe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rene Astrada having to interfere. 16 minutes into the match, Octav Hălmăgeanu notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Vela's Rene Astrada. Rene Astrada was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Marcelo Otoniel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Gonzo in the 19th minute of the match. After 23 minutes, Augusto Ricart mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vela and the Alumni Parana players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Vela's Augusto Ricart got a free kick in the 23rd minute. A collision led to Vela getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Genaro Thomas hit a great ball. The Vela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rene Astrada should have stopped the shot. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.
The wind increased when Joel Gonzo made the kick off in the second half. Carlos Froylan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vela's Rene Astrada played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Octav Hălmăgeanu in the 74th minute of play. The supporters of Alumni Parana booed when Vela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arturo Dalmai didn't get a good kick on the ball. Octav Hălmăgeanu was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 79th minute. Alumni Parana's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Arturo Dalmai kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Octav Hălmăgeanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Rene Astrada tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Alumni Parana booed when Vela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Froylan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alumni Parana's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
