Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Gogo Vela took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 4thth minute of the game Gogo Vela who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but River Plate's Fermin Bladi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Eustaquio Itzaina fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored River Plate's protests and gave Eustaquio Itzaina a yellow card for diving instead. After 10 played minutes River Plate got a freekick which was hit by Eustaquio Itzaina. In the 13th minute, Celestino Peru made a precise shot to the right of Isaias Quinten. Independiente's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alfredo Quinteros got free with Fermin Bladi in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Celestino Peru fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Isaias Quinten having to interfere. Guillermo Tebaldo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Isaias Quinten tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 31 played minutes Independiente got a freekick which was hit by Faustino Cebo. Fermin Bladi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gogo Vela's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. In the 43rd minute, Celestino Peru got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. River Plate's Celestino Peru got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Guillermo Tebaldo to make the kick off. Gogo Vela blasted a shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Fermin Bladi having to make a save. Gogo Vela sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Alfredo Quinteros might have been able to make a better finish in the 61st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fermin Bladi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alfredo Quinteros ran back to his position shaking his head. River Plate's Fermin Bladi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfredo Quinteros in the 63rd minute of play. After 67 minutes of play, Independiente's Alfredo Quinteros made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fermin Bladi was left in no man's land by his defense there! Gogo Vela received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Fermin Bladi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Independiente getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Desiderio Odilon hit a great ball. Fermin Bladi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfredo Quinteros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. River Plate's Fermin Bladi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gogo Vela in the 93rd minute of play. Independiente's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
