In the 6th minute Hernan Sendoa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rosendo Rios saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 11 minutes into the match, Zapata's goal looked a bit too open when Hernan Sendoa came free, but Rosendo Rios reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ovidio Maureo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Elias Baldovino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Zapata's Carlos Cheche got a free kick in the 18th minute. A hard shot by Herminio Mendebal from long distance, 19 minutes into the match, got Rosendo Rios's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. 21 minutes into the match, Zapata's goal looked a bit too open when Hernan Sendoa came free, but Rosendo Rios reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind Zapata's goalkeeper Rosendo Rios, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Rosendo Rios showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hernan Sendoa, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Rosendo Rios stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hernan Sendoa's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. Thanks to some nice moves Aquilino Tabor could shoot a difficult shot in the 36th minute, which Rosendo Rios however easily saved by the left post. If Alfonso Eneto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rosendo Rios was a little too slow when Hernan Sendoa got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 45th minute. The score was now 1-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hernan Sendoa was the one to do the kick off. Astor Santxol's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 51stth minute, Elias Baldovino skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Hernan Sendoa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Rosendo Rios tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hernan Sendoa in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rosendo Rios saved Zapata from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hernan Sendoa in the 89th minute of play forced Zapata's goalkeeper Rosendo Rios to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Alcira AFC's Aquilino Tabor in the 95th minute got a chance for a shot 95th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Zapata's goalie prevented a goal.
