The Zapata fans' excitement grew in the 10th match minute when Zapata's Ovidio Maureo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Arroyito FC's Evaristo Oroitz suffered a concussion after 14 minutes and had to leave the field. The supporters of Arroyito FC booed when Zapata was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anier Feliz didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Guaberto Joachim fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Arroyito FC's protests and gave Guaberto Joachim a yellow card for diving instead. Guaberto Joachim hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Rosendo Rios was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Martin Blai showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 29 minute of play. With a little luck, Zapata's Rosendo Rios got control of the ball when Ernesto Itzaina tried to sneak it across the goal line. Arroyito FC's Marcelo Napier got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ernesto Itzaina sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 42nd minute Ovidio Maureo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Florentino Maureo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Anier Feliz got his second yellow card in the match during the 79th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Anier Feliz hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. After 82 minutes of play, Arroyito FC's Marcelo Napier made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rosendo Rios was left in no man's land by his defense there! Marcelo Napier fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rosendo Rios having to interfere. Rosendo Rios showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martin Blai in the 90th minute of the match. When Ernesto Itzaina came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Arroyito FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ernesto Itzaina couldn't finish the play. 93 minutes into the game, Ernesto Itzaina cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Rosendo Rios was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When the referee ended the match the Arroyito FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
