Hector Etxepare showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lino Frascuelo in the 5th minute of the match. In the 5th match minute, Club Atlético San Miguel was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Honorio Pinto to maneuver through the defense. Amancio Erdiano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Epifanio Chayo having to interfere. Club Atlético San Miguel's Hector Etxepare played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by German Fernandes in the 18th minute of play. Leonardo Chepe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 22 minutes, Silvestre Fe managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Atlético San Miguel's supporters crossed their fingers, but Silvestre Fe was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A hard shot 29 in the game by Amancio Erdiano from a close distance when the talented Epifanio Chayo managed to make a qualified save. AC German's players were relieved. In the 36th minute Amancio Erdiano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Epifanio Chayo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Angelo Loiola made in the 37th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Club Atlético San Miguel's Pedro Llope. 38 minutes into the game, Amancio Erdiano cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Epifanio Chayo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Leonardo Chepe's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Epifanio Chayo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. Club Atlético San Miguel's Amancio Erdiano got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when German Fernandes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Amancio Erdiano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Club Atlético San Miguel's Hector Etxepare played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by German Fernandes in the 63rd minute of play. 69 minutes into the match, Club Atlético San Miguel's goal looked a bit too open when German Fernandes came free, but Hector Etxepare reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 70th minute, Natalio Sanchez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lino Frascuelo's late challenge caught a Club Atlético San Miguel's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lino Frascuelo helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Club Atlético San Miguel booed when AC German was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lino Frascuelo didn't get a good kick on the ball. 73 minutes into the match, AC German's goal looked a bit too open when Amancio Erdiano came free, but Epifanio Chayo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 75thth minute of the game Amancio Erdiano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but AC German's Epifanio Chayo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Leonardo Chepe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Epifanio Chayo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Amancio Erdiano in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Epifanio Chayo saved AC German from getting behind. If Leonardo Chepe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Epifanio Chayo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amancio Erdiano, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. Higinio Rufo hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. In the 87th minute, Amancio Erdiano ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Epifanio Chayo was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. Silvestre Fe recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. There was no doubt that Club Atlético San Miguel were the better team. Club Atlético San Miguel's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
