Jörgen Sjöström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Urbano Ekialde in the 12th minute of play. After having played for 13 minutes, Paolo Bingen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. EPICA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Paolo Bingen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Fernan Montez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Talleres getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Nunez Gipuzkoa hit a great ball. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind Talleres's goalkeeper Aureliano Marcones, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Isaias Cordareo during the 28th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 28th match minute, Talleres was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Isaias Cordareo to maneuver through the defense. EPICA's Jörgen Sjöström proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save EPICA from getting a goal against them. When Fernan Montez fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored EPICA's protests and gave Fernan Montez a yellow card for diving instead. With 38 minutes on the clock, Domingo Eder commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 38 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for EPICA! Israel Firmin walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Jörgen Sjöström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Urbano Ekialde, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Agustin Eder to make the kick off. Aureliano Marcones made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Celestino Urritz sent off a good shot on target. 53 minutes into the game, Leonides Geofredo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Talleres's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave EPICA the free kick. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Urbano Ekialde in the 61st minute of play forced EPICA's goalkeeper Jörgen Sjöström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jörgen Sjöström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Urbano Ekialde in the 63rd minute of the match. If Adrian Cugat had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 70 minutes into the game, Agustin Eder lined in a short shot 0-1 behind a frustrated Aureliano Marcones. If Erhardt Loll had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. EPICA's Celestino Urritz pulled a muscle in his leg after 79 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 79 minutes, Eusebio Bide mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Talleres and the EPICA players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of EPICA booed when Talleres was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eusebio Bide didn't get a good kick on the ball. EPICA's Agustin Eder came free and shot a quick shot against goal 82 minutes in the game, fortunately Aureliano Marcones had problems saving as it came toward the left post. 82 minutes into the game, Agustin Eder lined in a short shot 0-2 behind a frustrated Aureliano Marcones. In the 86th minute, Erhardt Loll got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jörgen Sjöström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Urbano Ekialde in the 89th minute of play. 94 minutes into the match, EPICA's goal looked a bit too open when Urbano Ekialde came free, but Jörgen Sjöström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. EPICA had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
