The audience thought a goal was coming when Elias Celio got free with Arne Samuelsson in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Enrique Laurgain showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from František Frič in the 11th minute of the match. 13 minutes into the game, Victor Monico cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Enrique Laurgain was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to Barreal FC getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Elias Celio hit a great ball. When Niceto Mateus came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Barreal FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Niceto Mateus couldn't finish the play. Elias Celios short, quick shot in the 29thth minute got Arne Samuelsson to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Victor Monico during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 29th match minute, Gamba Osaka F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Victor Monico to maneuver through the defense. Barreal FC's Enrique Laurgain played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Lia in the 31st minute of play. 35 minutes into the match, Barreal FC's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Lia came free, but Enrique Laurgain reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Barreal FC booed when Gamba Osaka F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Artemio Piorno didn't get a good kick on the ball. Arne Samuelsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Niceto Mateus in the 56th minute of play.
