A collision led to Fracrau FC getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Jeronimo Joey hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Gimnasia y Tiro defense, Erasmo Nardo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luciano Rafe. The Gimnasia y Tiro fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luciano Rafe should have stopped the shot. Tiburcio Abeitia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Teodosio Tino made a huge save. Teodosio Tino made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Fabricio Sagrario sent off a good shot on target. Gustavo Columbo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 26th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Luciano Rafe. Gimnasia y Tiro's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When Americo Pereyra fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gimnasia y Tiro's protests and gave Americo Pereyra a yellow card for diving instead. Americo Pereyra kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Luciano Rafe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erasmo Nardo, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. The supporters of Gimnasia y Tiro booed when Fracrau FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jeronimo Joey didn't get a good kick on the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The audience was convinced that Tiburcio Abeitia's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Teodosio Tino was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. Fracrau FC's Teodosio Tino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tiburcio Abeitia in the 65th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tiburcio Abeitia in the 65th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Teodosio Tino saved Fracrau FC from getting behind. Gimnasia y Tiro's Luciano Rafe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erasmo Nardo in the 66th minute of play. Fabricio Sagrario kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tiburcio Abeitia in the 69th minute of play forced Fracrau FC's goalkeeper Teodosio Tino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tiburcio Abeitia might have been able to make a better finish in the 76th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Teodosio Tino. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tiburcio Abeitia ran back to his position shaking his head. Teodosio Tino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tiburcio Abeitia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fabricio Sagrario struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Teodosio Tino didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gimnasia y Tiro. After 95 played minutes Gimnasia y Tiro got a freekick which was hit by Fabricio Sagrario. The Gimnasia y Tiro manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Fracrau FC to win.
