Haroldo Jaunzuria blasted a shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Arnaldo Illart having to make a save. Claudio Eron showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfredo Bermudo in the 42nd minute of the match. After having played for 44 minutes, Fábián Pulai managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ALEMAR's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fábián Pulai was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 47th minute Rodolfo Demesio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Claudio Eron saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

Marcial Medardo didn't get a good kick on the ball. 74 minutes into the match, Rodolfo Demesio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Claudio Eron. Claudio Eron took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfredo Bermudo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Adriaan Broers managed to get in a good position for a shot. ALEMAR's supporters rose to their feet, but Adriaan Broers was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arnaldo Illart breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. ALEMAR's Fábián Pulai got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, ALEMAR's Claudio Eron got control of the ball when Rodolfo Demesio tried to sneak it across the goal line. San Lorenzo's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
