Willis Goddard made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elpidio Quin in the 7th minute of play. Astor Cordarrol hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. After 13 minutes La Maquina Roja's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ramiro Bidari who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Pituil's Ramiro Bidari to fire away a dangerous shot which Willis Goddard despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Ruperto Ekialde showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Damaso Ofelio in the 14th minute of the match. Per-Oskar Vibjörnsson was extremely unlucky when he, in the 15th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Ruperto Ekialde took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Damaso Ofelio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Per-Oskar Vibjörnsson came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the La Maquina Roja fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Per-Oskar Vibjörnsson couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Pituil's Sixto Jakes got a free kick in the 19th minute. La Maquina Roja's Willis Goddard played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elpidio Quin in the 25th minute of play. When the match clock showed 29 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Damaso Ofelio sped through Pituil's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ruperto Ekialde. After 32 minutes, Joel Cloyo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pituil and the La Maquina Roja players grew even worse after the yellow card. Joel Cloyo kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. In the 33rd minute, Damaso Ofelio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Pituil's Ruperto Ekialde proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Pituil from getting a goal against them. Elpidio Quin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Willis Goddard having to interfere. Per-Oskar Vibjörnsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sixto Jakes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Willis Goddard tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Elpidio Quin made a kick off. Willis Goddard made an important save on a dangerous shot by Victor Azubeli in the 53rd minute. After 54 minutes of play Pituil's Sixto Jakes was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Sixto Jakes kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. 57 minutes into the match, Pituil's goal looked a bit too open when Damaso Ofelio came free, but Ruperto Ekialde reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, La Maquina Roja's Eliseo Harri got a free kick in the 58th minute. 60 minutes in the game Ramiro Bidari after having made a beautiful turn got a great opportunity to score and fired away a shot that went just to the left past a relieved Willis Goddard. A very good opportunity. Astor Cordarrol kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. Willis Goddard made an important save on a dangerous shot by Victor Azubeli in the 72nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Damaso Ofelio in the 78th minute of play forced Pituil's goalkeeper Ruperto Ekialde to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Damaso Ofelio managed to get in a good position for a shot. La Maquina Roja's supporters rose to their feet, but Damaso Ofelio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ruperto Ekialde breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Per-Oskar Vibjörnsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Ruperto Ekialde tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Elpidio Quin got free with Willis Goddard in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dante Benino struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Ruperto Ekialde didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for La Maquina Roja. Pituil's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
