Arturo Montay showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Torben Götz, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. When Holger Qvarnström came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Concepción fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Holger Qvarnström couldn't finish the play. When Justo Gaizko fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pigaru FC's protests and gave Justo Gaizko a yellow card for diving instead. In the 29th minute, Justo Gaizko hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alexandre Vaz hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Arturo Montay was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Holger Qvarnström showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-0 in the 34 minute of play. A collision led to Pigaru FC getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Eulalio Montel hit a great ball. In the 45th match minute, Pigaru FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fermin Jurgi to maneuver through the defense. Arturo Montay showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Holger Qvarnström in the 48th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Andrea Piccini to make the kick off. In the 73rd minute Holger Qvarnström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arturo Montay saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 73rd minute, Torben Götz made a precise shot to the right of Arturo Montay.
