Anthony Scalabrino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leonel Rocio, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. When Tomba FC's Rolando Nahia in the 16th minute got a chance for a shot 16th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Erubiel Iban sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Lucio Emenon hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. If Leontin Bujor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Arturo Jesco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. club atletico irlandes's Leontin Bujor got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tomba FC's Marcelo Franco proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save Tomba FC from getting a goal against them. Ulises Belmiro kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rolando Nahia to make the kick off. When Rolando Nahia came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Tomba FC fans jumped to their feet. Marcelo Franco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leontin Bujor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arturo Jesco in the 68th minute of play forced Tomba FC's goalkeeper Marcelo Franco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 72 minutes into the match, club atletico irlandes's goal looked a bit too open when Erubiel Iban came free, but Anthony Scalabrino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marcelo Franco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arturo Jesco in the 88th minute of the match. 94 minutes into the game, Arturo Jesco was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. club atletico irlandes's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tomba FC the free kick. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
