Cipriano Ixaka came free with the goalkeeper in the 28th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Filiberto Buinton could save by the left post. If Erubiel Bortzaioriz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 42nd minute Bogumil Naskrent shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maximo Guillelmus saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Erubiel Bortzaioriz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Maximo Guillelmus read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. Fernan Ellande hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Adrian Barbosa to make the kick off. Maximo Guillelmus had great luck who in the 58thth minute grab hold of the ball when Erubiel Bortzaioriz from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Erubiel Bortzaioriz in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Maximo Guillelmus prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With an all-out effort, Estudiantes L.P's Maximo Guillelmus threw himself towards the right post 76 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Erubiel Bortzaioriz, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 79 played minutes Estudiantes L.P got a freekick which was hit by Bogumil Naskrent.
